For this project, I am mapping the traditional grazing lands and territories of pastoralist political communities before collectivization and after the establishment of mutual aid teams, cooperatives, and communes beginning in 1956. It shows how territory and mobility were greatly reduced during collectivization and the amalgamation of different political communities.
